About us
Founded in 1995 by Sensei Frank Rowley, 7th Dan, we are one of Doncaster’s longest-established Martial Arts clubs — if not the longest.
Frank started his Martial Arts journey over 60 years ago in Wigan, before moving with his family to Doncaster in 1981. Frank has competed in, and won, at many National and International competitions over his Martial Arts career. His son, Eddie, joined him on that journey at the age of 6 in 1987.
Ever since Frank founded the club, and Eddie joined him in 1995, we have been a family-run - with a strong, welcoming community of members and instructors.
Our experienced and passionate instructors help children, teenagers and adults work towards their own goals, whether that is learning a practical martial art, improving fitness and confidence, testing themselves, or becoming an active competitor..
Over the years, our members have gone on to replicate the success achieved by Frank and Eddie at every level of competition, both Nationally and Internationally with numerous National and International Champions, alongside many silver and bronze medallists.
While we are proud of those achievements, competition is about far more than medals. For those who choose to compete, it provides a valuable opportunity to build confidence, resilience and the ability to grow through both success and setbacks.
We currently have classes in Armthorpe, Barnburgh and Rossington, with full class details available on our homepage.
For parents’ peace of mind, all instructors hold DBS certificates and we have been awarded the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts by Sport England, recognising the high standard of our policies and procedures for protecting children and vulnerable adults.
Martial arts promotes a healthy lifestyle while developing confidence, focus and strong character.
We are a proud member of the British Ju Jitsu Association (GB), the national governing body for Ju Jitsu.
